MAKING YOUR FIRST RAVE TOTEM

At a festival, it helps to have something that can be spotted over a long distance, easily and quickly. In the lead up to Snow Globe, my friends and I decided that we were going to make a totem so that we could find one another in the crowd. I wanted to share a little about our experience and some ideas to make sure your totem is not only super cool but easy to stop across a large crowd.

ROLLING SAFE

Like everything, MDMA can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. It isn’t evil or inherently dangerous, but it is a substance that can cause a great deal of harm to those who don’t know how to use it safely. In this article, I am going to break down the different types of MDMA, what to be on the lookout for, and how to recover well.

IT'S OK TO LEAVE THE RAVE EARLY

T IS OK TO LEAVE A FESTIVAL EARLY. I feel like this is something that no one ever really says especially to people who are just starting. Some people even have a strange sense of pride about sticking it out to the end even if they want to (or need to) go home. Personally, I find that to be a little silly. Raving is like a marathon and the first couple of times you may not be ready to sprint the whole thing (even if you wish you could). Everyone starts out at a different level of endurance, and though you will build it up in time, it is totally okay if you aren’t able to make it all the way to the very end.

PRE-RAVE FUEL

Raving is a lot of work. You need to make sure that you give your body what it needs beforehand and not just after if you want to recover well the next day. I know it can be hard to force yourself to eat a filling meal especially if you are like me and lose your appetite when you are excited. No matter what you end up deciding to eat please make sure that it has enough protein, carbs, and healthy fats to keep you going.

GA, GA+, VIP, OH MY

It can often be difficult to decide what tier of tickets you want to get for your next event. I personally always struggle to decide, especially when the options all seem to have so much going for them. In this post I break down the benefits of all the ticket types as well as what you (as a first time festival goer) should be thinking about before you make your decision.

RAVING SOLO

The thought of going to an event by yourself is somewhat daunting. It’s easy to get so swept up in fear that you won’t have a good time because you aren’t surrounded by a group of friends, that you end up giving up on the whole thing and staying home. Most people act like a group is the secret ingredient required to make a good time, but really the only person that controls your experience is you.

A QUICK GUIDE TO PLUR

If you are new to the world of festivals, you might have been a little confused the first time you saw someone decked out in what looked like a bunch of friendship bracelets you made at summer camp as a kid. It probably seemed even stranger when you saw them trade bracelets after doing what looks like a secret handshake. Yeah, it may seem a little odd at first, but trading Kandi and the PLUR spirit are two of the things that makes this culture so magical. Let's start with the basics.
